 A resident of Chillicothe most of his life, Ron
moved here from Cameron when he was six years of age. Graduating from Chillicothe High
School in 1947, he attended Chillicothe Business College prior to enrolling at Notre Dame
in the fall of 1948, graduating with a degree in accounting. After graduation, he served
in the Army at the Finance School in Indianapolis.After
completing his Army service, Ron worked in the family business, Industrial Equipment
Company as office manager, then general manager. When the firm was sold in 1995, Ron
joined EST Realty as a sales agent shortly after.
Ron is active in community affairs and was a charter member of the
Chillicothe Jaycees, serving as Jaycee president, Missouri State Vice President, and
National Director. He served on the Chamber of Commerce board and was President of the
Board of Chillicothe Municipal Utilities for 20 years. He also was a member of the
Chillicothe Industrial Development Corporation board, serving as president for 10 years.
Currently, he is secretary of the Livingston County Community Foundation, a group seeking
to fund a permanent endowment to make monetary grants to deserving charitable
organizations.
